The Flourish Center is a collaborative hub dedicated to expansive health and healing. We bring together diverse, independent professionals—including integrative medicine, mental health, and more—to offer you seamless, whole-person care.
Jen Owen, Nurse Practitioner
Flourish Integrative Medicine
Jen is a nationally board-certified Adult Nurse Practitioner and the founder of The Flourish Center. Her interest in natural and integrative medicine began in 1992 and has shaped her decades-long commitment to whole-person care.
Jen created The Flourish Center as a space where modern medical science and integrative healing could exist together—supporting both physical and emotional well-being. As the lead clinician at Flourish Integrative Medicine, she offers in-depth, relationship-based care focused on root-cause evaluation, cardiometabolic health, hormones, gut health, and holistic pelvic care.
Her approach blends advanced diagnostics with lifestyle medicine and targeted integrative therapies. Jen is known for her thoughtful listening, strategic clinical insight, and her ability to help patients understand their bodies more clearly. She partners with individuals who are ready to take an active role in their health and build sustainable, lasting vitality.
JODY CECIL, LICENSED PROFESSIONAL COUNSELOR
Taking Root Counseling
Jody recently returned to the Pacific Northwest after more than 25 years in Phoenix, Arizona. She became a counselor in 2014 after careers in fundraising/events and teaching. As the owner of Taking Root Counseling, Jody offers a safe space for clients to pursue healing and wholeness.
Jody offers counseling using a variety of modalities including Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, Trauma-Informed Stabilization Treatment, Internal Family Systems, and Eye Movement and Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR). Her approach is collaborative and eclectic with an emphasis on the body’s innate wisdom and capacity for change.
Jody invites her clients to approach the process of counseling with curiosity and self-compassion. She honors each person’s story, including the way we have learned to survive in the face of hardship and pain. She celebrates life, the connectedness of humanity, and the reality of grace.
Julia Chapman Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist
Julia Chapman Psychotherapy
Julia Chapman, LMFT, has been working in private practice since 2012. As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, her training is aimed at helping people develop healthy, satisfying relationships.
Julia provides affirmative psychotherapy to adults of different cultures, genders and sexual identities. Julia enjoys assisting individuals and couples navigate major life transitions as well as cope with family of origin conflict, codependency, trauma and loss. In addition, she has a Perinatal Mental Health Certification and is passionate about helping clients navigate pregnancy, postpartum, infertility, and early parenthood.
Throughout the therapy process, Julia emphasizes the significance of the therapeutic relationship and incorporates warmth, compassion, and humor into the work. She utilizes a collaborative approach with clients, focusing on identifying strengths, developing effective communication strategies and increasing agency in their lives.

Elissa Cibu
Executive Medical Assistant
Elissa was born in Romania and moved to the Pacific Northwest at a young age. She recently graduated in June from Oregon State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Public Health.
During her time in college, she completed the prerequisites for nursing school while gaining hands-on experience working as a CNA at a nursing home and rehabilitation center. She also interned at an adult day services center, further deepening her commitment to patient care.
Elissa is passionate about nursing and is planning to begin nursing school next fallWhen not working at Flourish, Elissa enjoys snowboarding, exploring new places through travel, and photography!
Jade Smith
Social Media Manager
Jade manages social media for The Flourish Center and Jen Owen, N.P.’s clinic and coaching programs. He earned his Associates Degree in General Studies from the University of Montana. He has a keen interest in marketing.
Now located in Boise, Idaho, Jade creates our fun and interesting social media content. When not working for Flourish, he enjoys skiing and flyfishing.
Megan Brill
Project Manager & Support Staff
Megan helps with projects around the center and acts as our prn clinic staff.
Originally from California but re-rooted in Portland in 2009, Megan loves the Multnomah Village community where she lives and works.
After experiencing the positive impact that yoga, meditation, and mindfulness had on her overall health, she is a firm believer in holistic medicine as a way to heal the mind and body.
Her approach is to always meet people where they are and lead with kindness and compassion.
In her spare time, Megan loves reading, golfing, watching sports and enjoying the Portland food scene.
